This Weekend: Washed Out
Today is the first day that really feels like fall. You can smell it in the air, and that's oddly comforting. There is something indescribably pleasant about the crispness of a fall day.
That means that your opportunities to enjoy being outside are becoming numbered, though. This weekend, there are a lot of things going on that would have given you the chance to make the most of the relatively mild temperatures. I was going to highlight a bunch of them, but unfortunately it's supposed to rain all weekend. Looks like you're either going to have to grab a poncho or try something inside.
There have been a lot of great concerts in the area lately, but honestly, Friday is kind of a slow night. You could always go to Molly Brannigans, have a beer or two and enjoy the wit of a Spotobe coaster. If you’re not up for that, then how about trying a new restaurant? Events-wise, Get The Led Out is making another stop at the Whitaker Center. I’m not a big tribute band fan so oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oooooohhhhh, I’m not going to go oh, oh, oh oh, oooohhhhh.
Saturday, Penn State gets its first real test of the year (sorry, I can’t help myself sometimes). Once again, I had about eight outdoor events ready to tell you about, but it seems like most of them are either going to be rained out or pretty muddy. The Falmouth Goat Races might still be worth going to though. Saturday night, Tony Bennett will be at The Forum, and he’s the kind of performer who is definitely worth seeing even if you aren’t a huge fan. You know, because he’s Tony Bennett. The Irish Comedy Tour also pulls into the Harrisburg Comedy Zone.
Sunday, it seems like the weather could turn a little bit, so it might be nice enough to go to Family Picnic Day at Hershey Gardens or Woofstock 2008. If the scattered thunderstorms that are predicted don’t end up being so scattered, the Manhattan Short Film Festival is coming to the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York, which is actually really cool. This is a world-wide, multi-venue event, and one of those venues is right down the road. Might be worth taking a look. Have fun kids.

Darn! No comments yet.
You know it's really sad when people ignore each other and right now I feel really ignored. Would you like to help start a conversation now?
