This Weekend: Something Different

We’ve been spoiled with lots of great community events lately, but this weekend there’s really not all that much going on. Nope, not joking. I suppose it’s on weekends like this that an events and entertainment website should really earn its keep, but honestly, it’s Friday afternoon and I just can’t see myself finding the energy.

Okay, I kid, I kid. In the words of Mario in Mario Tennis 64 "Here ve go!" You’ll have to trust me on some of these, we’re going outside the box…

On Friday night, the weather seems like it’s going to be absolutely gorgeous, so do something outside. How about dinner on the back patio at Zephyr Express? Affordable, tasty and a nice laid-back vibe. After that, when it cools off for the evening, go play a round at Water Golf on City Island. No Senators game so the place won’t be mobbed, and you might be surprised to find out that it’s open until 10:00.

If you are looking for an actual event that will allow you to enjoy the weather, the Hotel Hershey has with the Rose Hudson Band.

Saturday you’ve got the Father’s Day Olympics at Bass Pro Shops, which amuse me to no end. Looks like it could be fun if you’ve got an outdoorsy dad. You also have the finale of Shakespeare in the Park and Love’s Labour’s Lost. If you’re looking for sports, the Senators are out of town, but the Central Penn Vipers and the City Islanders aren’t. There’s also the weekend’s marquee event, the Big 33 Football Classic at Hersheypark Stadium. If you don’t feel like dining at the concession stand, head to Hershey early and stop at What If… of Hershey.

Sunday, take pops out to dinner. The Blue Bistro and Wine Bar has a great deal on surf and turf. Dad also gets in free at the Hershey Gardens.

Alright, that’s it for me. Hopefully checking out an apartment this afternoon, York tonight, graduation party and Euro 2008 tomorrow. Have fun, kids.

Darn! No comments yet.

  1. You know it's really sad when people ignore each other and right now I feel really ignored. Would you like to help start a conversation now?

Do you have something to add?
