Spotobe is Twittering (I Think…)
I’m never really sure whether I’m Twittering or Tweeting and I’m kind of concerned about the past-tense implications of whichever the correct word is (the English major in me knows that the conjugation would make it either twittered or tweeted but… still). These issues aside, Spotobe is now on Twitter. I have to admit that even after everyone in the office starting using Twitter and giggling about little inside jokes that I was clueless on, I resisted getting sucked in. It’s somewhat frightening that I’m 24 and I already occasionally feel like I don’t “get” new technology.
After a few weeks of Twitter action, I have to admit that I’m starting to enjoy it. When I was a freshman at Penn State, it was extremely important that you always had the perfect AIM away message. Obviously people had to know exactly what you were doing and how you felt at all times. You got extra points if you could communicate the second part of that through easily recognizable college-friendly song lyrics. I posted a lot of O.A.R. lyrics on Friday nights that year. I guess I spent a lot of time feeling kind of funky, kind of fine.
Anyway, Twitter takes me back to those halcyon days. As one of my co-workers said, “Twitter is for people who want to feel like the Internet cares about them,” and honestly, who doesn’t? The plan is for me to update it constantly with more quick-hitting stuff, and text in updates when I’m out and about. Really, it’s a pretty cool tool, and I encourage everyone who is not already registered to get hooked up at http://www.twitter.com. Once you have, follow me at http://twitter.com/spotobe… Please?
