Danny Cepero Makes History

I'm not normally one for posting video clips, but someone that spent the summer in Harrisburg just made sports history. Danny Cepero, who tended the net for the City Islanders this summer, became the first goaltender to score a goal in an MLS game last weekend playing for the New York Red Bulls. Oh, it was his MLS debut.

Wow.

Congratulations, Danny! Further proof that soccer should never, ever be played on turf, but congratulations nonetheless. We actually took a picture of him making a pretty nasty save on a penalty earlier this summer and now he’s a star.

Hey, thanks for posting -- this is almost exciting enough to make me want to watch soccer. But only if there's no baseball, football, volleyball or golf on.

Wait. Baseball and GOLF are on the list of more exciting spectator sports?!

Well, yes, for me, golf and baseball are more fun to watch...maybe 'cause I have played them/been around the games more. Aside from David Beckham, I just don't get soccer. Sorry.

    That makes sense.

Do you have something to add?
