  • Restaurant Round-Up: The Hill Side Cafe and Melting Pot x II

    Food is one thing that I don't mind spending money on. In my experience going out for a nice meal with friends or a loved one at a truly great restaurant is worth spending a few bucks, and it's not enjoyable if you worry about what you're going to spend the whole meal. I've done that. It's awful. I love food of all kinds, and I'm certainly not a food snob or a foodie, but sometimes you just want a nice dinner. This week in Restaurant Round-Up, Evan recounts a pleasant meal at the Hill Side Cafe in Etters — a place that I didn't even know existed — and Dori and Madeline both check in after visiting the Melting Pot on separate occasions.   • Restaurant Round-Up: Pizza Grille, Schiano’s Italian Restaurant & Rock Bass Grill

    Not too many people in Central Pennsylvania have a bad word to say about the Pizza Grille. The place has won about every applicable award an area restaurant can win (scant few), and has gotten nothing but effusive praise from the local media. This week in the Restaurant Round-Up, Spotobe contributor Jim writes about an underwhelming visit. Has anyone else been lately? Did Jim catch them on an off night or has the Pizza Grille become slightly overrated? Also this week in the Round-Up, Lily gives Rock Bass Grill a tepid recommendation and Madeline writes about about a local favorite in Northern Dauphin County.   • Restaurant Round-Up: Chocolate Cafe, Raspberries & Carrabba’s

    I can only go out to eat so much. Same with Dori. In my case, my waistline and my wallet would both be adversely affected if I went out any more than I do now. In Dori’s case, well, she’s got a young 'un.

    With that in mind, we’d like to introduce a new weekly feature, the Spotoblog Restaurant Round-Up. The people who keep Spotobe running on all cylinders love to go out as much as Dori and I do, and we figured the more meaningful information we can put out there, the better. Hopefully this will be one more resource to check out before spending your hard-earned coin on a meal.

    We’ll be putting each post under the new Restaurant Round-Up category, and we’ll also create a category for each Spotobeing who submits a review. That way, if you find you tend to like the same restaurants as one of us, you can see every place that person has written about. This week, Madeline weighs in on the Chocolate Café, Dave dishes about Raspberries and Katie gives us the scoop on Carrabba’s. Enjoy:   Full Article »
